- Our base rate, which applies to one child, is $35 per hour.
- Each additional child is $6 per child per hour.
- Our minimum DAY service is 4 hours per sitter (before 5 p.m.).
- EVENING service is 3 hours per sitter (after 5 p.m.).
- We will charge our minimum hours even if the sitter is dismissed earlier.
- All charges above our initial minimum will be prorated to the next half-hour.
Choosing your sitter is based upon the age of the child, the number of children, time of service and even location. We match your Nantucket needs with our sitters level of experience & availability—taking pride in providing continuity throughout your vacation. Depending upon the number of children, ages and time of service we might determine that more than one sitter is needed.

- Vacationing with a group? Enjoy an adults-only day or night out or home alone while we take the kids in your group to enjoy a kids-only day or night out! We arrange group activities based on the current Nantucket happenings—from a trip for ice cream at The Juice Bar or shopping on the cobblestones, to an evening out at the Dreamland Theater.
- Time slips document the starting and ending times of each session. Please complete and sign your sitters’ time slip before you dismiss them. Keep a copy for your records.
Our rate does not include a gratuity. However, it is permissible to tip your sitter in cash.
Upon reservation of services, we require a deposit by credit card of 3 hours fee per sitter per session, which applies to each session reserved with Nantucket Babysitters’ Service, Inc. A one-hour fee is nonrefundable in the event of cancellation prior to the day of services by the client. For same-day cancellations, you will be charged for 3 hours of service per sitter reserved.
